Legitimately, probably the worst novel I've ever read. In his first novel, Dave Eggers has written a moving and hilarious tale of two friends who fly around the world trying to give away a lot of money and free themselves from a profound loss. Oh no! I didn't like the the narrator or his sidekick who were 27 but came across like 12 year old boys. However, without a solid set of criteria, or a definitive direction in their plan, their quest proves surprisingly difficult, and they experience much awkward confusion and moral uncertainty, and they often fear being robbed and killed. When I started to review this, I wasn't sure what rating it deserved. There is genius here…. is the work of a wildly talented writer…. in the last 1/4.

The plot line seemed familiar, two young men, without plans traveling the world. Their adventures are comical, and easy to relate to if you've ever gone on a trip with not much planning.
