David held a number of positions over the years to support his growing family including employment at MIT Lincoln Laboratories, the Employment and Economic Policy Administration, E.D.I.C. After a brief stint at Boston College, he enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska as a radio operator until his honorable discharge in September 1953.
