For those classes where this was not available, the school offers free tutoring which I took advantage of, as well. In my current school, we have access to computers, printers, tutors and a multitude of extracurriculars. The teachers go above and beyond when it comes to providing an education. In my freshman year, I had an unpleasant encounter with a teacher.

The District is often overlooked by many other school districts and the students within those districts as a "slum" or a district where no matter which of the four schools you enter, the future resides in retail, fast-food, or similar job professions. All the adults that work for the school really show their pride in the school, and try to get all students involved with extracurricular and school events.
Moving on to sports, a new student can feel very left out as it is can be based off of connections. For example, it would be extremely more welcoming if we had faculty who looked like us the students. Students are engaged challenging curriculum, and have access to lots of specials including daily Spanish class starting in 1st grade. In the beginning I was bit of a hot head. Whenever I needed help with homework/an assignment, the teachers were always there to assist me. These free meals will be available at Veterans Memorial Middle School, Kerr Middle School and Nathan Hale Middle School. I will miss the high school setting and the friends that I have made at Shepard. There are also many extracurricular activities for students to choose from which makes it easy to be engaged and make new friends. The beautiful "windy City" of Chicago is home to such attractions as the Sears Tower, the Magnificent Mile, the Chicago Public Library and Grant Park as well as many wonderful humanitarians, such as Oprah Winfrey and the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. One thing I feel like Maine East can improve on is definitely remodeling the whole school because it looks so old compared to the other schools in the district. I liked the majority of the teachers at Fremd High school, and found the activities and clubs great, especially Show choir and a Capella with Mrs. Collins! The theater program at Cook is excellent. I (surprisingly) however, did not get in to much trouble. The students are met with age appropriate challenges that allow them to develop their own critical thinking skills. Counselors, teachers, or even staffs are here to support their students and make sure they’re on the right path. Speaking for myself, I never saw a form of bullying in the hallways which is wonderful for being such a diverse high school. Many other colleges and universities call Cook County home as well as the Chicago Public Schools Department. The teachers really engage themselves into building professional but compassionate relationships with their students. The situation was slightly racist as she only pointed my fault out despite my other white classmates doing the same exact action. The academics were easy for me as long as I made sure I paid attention and did the work, yet there was challenging courses (honor classes and AP) but not impossible to ace as long as I maintained good time management. All the teachers at West are very caring and respectful adults.

I have had a really great time at EPHS; if I could go back in time and relive my high school experience I would not change a thing. With so much to experience in Cook County, tourists and home shoppers flock to its many townships to take advantage of such a great location. We went on college tour during spring break and 90 percent of the cost was paid for by the school district. The thing I like about my district is that we take education every serious. The Admin are usually reliable but not when it comes to social issues or racial bullying. The Northfield campus is built beautifully structured.
I can guarantee to all those over lookers they are all wrong. What I enjoyed of this district is the determination to get students to strive for excellence. Obviously, teachers and resources vary at every school, but my experience has been positive. I really appreciate the staffs developing a relationship with their students. I went on exchange to Colombia for 3 months and hosted the student I lived with here for 3 months. Since we are very diverse, everyone fits in perfectly.
