[6] In Gillian Armstrong's Unfolding Florence: The Many Lives of Florence Broadhurst, friends and employees of Broadhurst stated that they believed the killer may have been known to her and that the motive may have been financial. Really fantastic film. I usually don't go for biographies, but this is 1/2 art book; so very visually interesting. She was a true master of reinvention! Broadhurst was bludgeoned to death with a large piece of timber in her Paddington studio on 15 October 1977. Kate Spade recently did a fantastic collection with Broadhurst patterns, and if you love these bright, bold patterns, you can still wallpaper your home with Broadhurst wallpaper. She was murdered in the Sydney suburb of Paddington, New South Wales and the perpetrator has not been apprehended.

Great book. I have a love/hate relationship with Florence Broadhurst. It was a very interesting story about a woman that constantly reinvented herself and ultimately her murder. This dynamic collection of wallpaper reflects her artistic expression and style. Lennie had previously run a small wallpaper company in Auckland, New Zealand and briefly met Florence Broadhurst before her death. This effort, coupled with an international resurgence of interest in wallpaper, greatly increased the designer's profile and led to distribution deals being struck for both the UK and the US in 2003. She (or whoever really did design them) was incredibly gifted and this book will be a treasure trove for designers (5 stars for design). width: 20%; Viewed today, the Broadhurst designs appear to demonstrate a remarkable awareness of 'Australia-ness' at a time when the nation was only beginning to come to grips with where its heritage lay.
